My name is Michael, and I want to share about my foundation called Jake Driven to Give FDN, Corp. It was created in honor of my son, Jake, who tragically passed away from an overdose on a Xanax pill laced with fentanyl. To prevent other families from experiencing such pain, I am organizing events outside supermarkets, drugstores and churches to distribute free Narcan naloxone nasal spray.
Narcan nasal spray is a life-saving medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. It is administered through the nose and works by quickly binding to the opioid receptors in the brain, blocking the effects of the opioids and restoring normal breathing. This immediate intervention can be crucial in saving lives, as it buys time for emergency medical services to arrive and provide further assistance.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to me that no other family has to witness their loved one's last moments like I did with Jake. He knew he was dying, and it was heartbreaking. I made a promise to him that I would do everything in my power to prevent other families from going through the same pain. By distributing Narcan nasal spray to homeless individuals, and churches, we can help protect our community and keep our generation alive.The drug crisis we face is complex, with drugs being brought in from overseas and sold within our borders. We need to put an end to this and educate people about the dangers of drugs. Whether it's directing them to rehabilitation centers, mental health services, or any other necessary support, we must take action. I am determined to fulfill my promise to my son Jake, and I won't stop until no child loses their life to fentanyl, heroin, opioids, or any other drugs.
