This Ghana study abroad is an excellent learning opportunity! Not only do I get to learn about the history of Ghana and its culture, but I'll be learning about myself.

HI! My name is Zola Lamothe and my favorite word in equity. I'm currently a marketing major through the Kelley School of Business and plan to minor in Africana studies. On campus, I'm extremely active and participate in five different student organizations. In my free time I love to paint, watch documentaries, and dance in my room. Lastly, I have a passion for social justice and my goal is that this experience will fortify that passion.
The Diversity Enrichment Achievement Program (DEAP), in collaboration with the Multicultural Center, is pleased to present this study abroad initiative that provides an immersive learning experience in Ghana for students from historically underrepresented backgrounds.
Participants get a unique opportunity to enhance their understanding of other cultures, the world around them, and themselves. For most of our students, this is their first time to travel abroad—and for some, it’s their first time to travel at all. You can help make student aspirations of studying abroad a reality by donating to the program. Study abroad experiences have a direct impact on student learning, retention, and success—especially among populations that have been historically underrepresented.
“The program really forced you to sit, think, and look deep within yourself.” -Past participant
