I am trying to raise money for next years (2013) JDRF Walk to Cure. Zach has lived with diabetes since age 4, he is now 12. Type 1 diabetes requires many blood glucose checks, 8 or more time daily. Also a constant correction of glucose numbers requiring insulin via injection or insulin pumping. When a type 1 diabetic gets a simple cold, or any other illness, they have to be closely checked for ketones. Kentones can cause ketoacidosis and even death if not treated in time. Many times we have been to the hospital for this condition so that we can get levels under control. Insulin is NOT a cure, and in fact has only been available since the early 1900's. Without insulin a type 1 diabetic will not survive. Please donate what you can. You can go to JDRF.org to learn more. We will be working with the Tucson Chapter.
Can’t donate? Please share. Even a quick share on Facebook can help.
The average share raises $97.
