To celebrate earning my master's degree i’ve decided to embark on my first trip to a country in Africa. As a gift and/or to show support of my accomplishments, would you consider making a contribution toward this trip?

The year 2019 marks 400 years since the first enslaved Africans, having been kidnapped, chained, and forced onto ships, endured the middle passage and stepped on the shores of america.
In commemoration, the Ghanaian government has dubbed 2019 “The Year of The Return” and are inviting descendants of enslaved africans living across the diaspora to Ghana to participate in a series of historical and cultural events.
To celebrate earning my master’s degree, i have decided to embark on an international trip and i have chosen Ghana due the historical significance of the current moment, as well my desire to connect w cultures across the diaspora and document my experiences.
As this will be my first time visiting any country in Africa, i intend for this trip to allow for the exploration of the histories and cultural practices that the captors of my ancestor tried to erase.
Please consider making a contribution to help make this journey possible. All money donated to this campaign will be used directly towards travel to and accommodations in Ghana.
I am asking for $2,500 to cover approximately $1,500 flight and another $500 to cover room and board for the duration of the trip, traveling about the country, and visiting historical and otherwise important locations. No contribution is too small!
