I'm raising money to help provide students at my school with low-cost eyeglasses.

I'm working together with my school, a local optometrist, and my friends and colleagues at Teach For China to provide free eye exams and eyeglasses to a number of elementary and middle schools in Yunnan, China. Many of the students that we teach do not have the resources to go to the city to get eye exams, buy glasses, etc., so we are providing all of these things for free, at our schools.
The doctor we are working with is committed to helping these students and is providing the glasses at cost, which works out to about 10-12 USD a pair. Currently, we have plans to test over 10,000 students, about 1/5 of whom will need glasses. If we raise $2000, we will be able to provide a whole school with free eyeglasses.
Testing starts in the middle of March, with the whole program running throughout the semester.
