Dear Fundraisers,

We wanted to sincerely thank you all for your enthusiastic participation in our Miles for Change fundraiser. Here are some highlights:

1) We had 100% team participation!
2) 36 Eph alumni participated, ranging from the Class of 2020 to the Class of 1961.
3) We logged 2,832 miles over the course of three days. This was 1,332 miles over our initial goal of 1,500 miles.
4) We had 176 donors and raised $18,816. This was $17,316 more than our initial goal of $1,500.

We are truly blown away by the support that this fundraiser received. It is a powerful testament to the strength and the tradition of the greater Williams Swimming and Diving community. However, we are also aware that this fundraiser merely marks a step in the right direction toward addressing racial injustice. We acknowledge that this should not, and will not, be the only step our team takes in regard to such inequalities.

And again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your participation.

More Info

As members of the Williams College Swim and Dive team, we are committed to acknowledging our privileges and to utilizing our resources to support those less fortunate. In order to better ourselves and our community, we have decided to facilitate educational team meetings about recent events and to organize a fundraiser for the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), an organization that works to end mass incarceration, challenge racial injustice, and protect human rights for those most vulnerable in American society. You can read more about it here: https://eji.org/about/. From Friday, June 12th to Sunday, June 14th, we will be completing miles as a team with each mile representing one dollar (or more) donated to the EJI. We are hoping to complete 1,500 miles, and exceed $1,500 in donations. We ask for the support of anyone who is willing and able to donate.
