More Info

Many of Hocking College’s students live in rural Appalachia, are first-generation college students, and find it very difficult to find reliable transportation to places of employment while attending college. Some students need additional funding to pay for their education, and are ineligible for scholarshops from other sources, or have exhausted their supply of available scholarships. Because of this, Hocking College started a Work Scholarship program four years ago to assist students in paying for their education.

This program gives students a scholarship for $1,000 per semester while they work for the college in various positions 10 hours a week. This work experience also helps build students’ resumes that they carry into careers in high-demand fields. Currently, there are 275 students in the Work Scholarship program, and 100 students on a waiting list. The Hocking College Foundation provides this and many more scholarships to Hocking College Students to support their education.

Any money received through FUNDLY will go directly to the waiting list of students so they can begin to work their way through school, and begin on the path towards a rewarding career. To learn more about the Hocking College Foundation, visit foundation.hocking.edu.
