Dear Wooster Football Supporter,
As the new Head Football Coach at Wooster High School I am reaching out to alumni, Wooster Football supporters, and friends. As we begin to prepare for the upcoming season there are many needs for the football program as a whole. With the late start we are trying to accomplish many tasks and are in desperate need of funding to do this. The school district does need give adequate support for sports in general and football demands the most when it comes to an operational budget. We are scrambling to try and put together the old Colts Kickoff Classic golf tournament but with time restraints and available funding it seems nearly impossible. The Football Fundraising account is empty so I am reaching out for any monetary help I can get from the community.
This once proud and prominent program barely has a dollar to its name and our equipment needs are a priority. Though the previous coaches worked hard to keep the Wooster Football Tradition alive, equipment was not a priority. Helmets and shoulder pads are reaching and exceeding the 10 year life span mark and need replacing for safety reasons. The average helmet cost $350 dollars and my hopes are to purchase at least 15 for this upcoming season. Our practice uniforms are old games uniforms that are ripped and faded from the 1980’s and 1990’s. I want to look like a football team when we take the field this August.
I thank you for taking the time to read this and hope you will consider donating to the Wooster Football Team. In order to restore pride in this once traditionally great program it is going to take rebuilding the foundation and that starts with great community support. All donations are tax exempt, the tax id number is 88-6000919, and a donation letter is attached.
Please feel free to contact me any time if there are any questions.
