Update #5

Happy to announce that my former colleague at Kiva is joining us as a speaker. Melissa Fabros is a Software Engineer at Kiva working on machine learning projects to solve challenges in microfinance. Please join us on April 10th to hear more about her talk on "Machine Learning for Social Good!"

More Info

Since I joined the Women in Data Science(WiDS) initiative back in 2018, I've met so many inspiring people in tech and data science who generously shared their time with me. This experience taught me the value of sharing knowledge and building a community.

To give back what I've received, I started organizing regional WiDS events to bring together anyone interested in tech & data science to provide resources and help them find their passion.

With this goal in mind, my organization has hosted more than 20+ workshops, meetups, and events with a total of 100+ attendees in Seoul, South Korea.

This year, I'm organizing this event by myself while in graduate school, so I need your support to continue the momentum and make it happen! Your generous help would be very much appreciated!

SPEAKERS

Dr. Anne Mexiner, a semiconductor test expert with 30 years’ experience as an engineer and technical leader, will share her quest to the data silos problem in manufacturing.

Dr. Michelle Neiss, CEO of DHM Research, will share key learnings from her career progression from academia to a leadership position at one of the most well-respected public opinion research firms in the Northwest.

AGENDA

  • 6:30 PM: Registration & Food
  • 7:00 PM: Introduction & Highlights from WiDS Stanford
  • 7:10 PM: Dr. Anne Meixner’s tech talk on Breaking Data Silos
  • 7:40 PM: Fireside chat with Dr. Michelle Neiss
  • 8:10 PM: Networking
  • 8:30 PM: Wrap Up

This event is open to anyone supporting women to excel in tech & data science careers. Please bring a photo ID for registration at the front desk.
