Villa Rica Area Historical Society, Inc is hoping to raise funds of $5000.00 for the treatment of termites that has consumed the Lott Meeting Hall and our beloved Wicks Tavern Ca. 1830, Wicks was used as a Stagecoach/Tavern in 1830 for the gold miners in the area of Hixtown. This building is the oldest commercial structure in West Georgia and the last remaining structure of Hixtown. The Lott Meeting Hall was built to help raise the funds for the Wicks Tavern and its museum, the termites have consumed that building as well, if the meeting Hall cannot be used, then funds cannot be raised for Wicks.
