I have officiated over 1200 wedding ceremonies and I’m writing a book about it. Lots of churches are struggling. Help me teach churches how to reach couples through weddings and marriage ministry. Will you support me?
The year 2020 affected us all in so many ways. Some good, many difficult. The pandemic and the subsequent restrictions made it clear to me that I needed to share my ministry and personal story on a larger scale. It is for this reason that I am looking for your partnership and financial support in launching a ministry project culminating in a book that can be an outreach tool for struggling churches. You are invited to be a part of it.
I am privileged to serve as a pastor of a mainline church in Northeast Ohio. This has been a challenging season for us as a church, but I believe that we navigated it well and are even excited about the next chapter and its new ministry opportunities.
For nearly thirty years I have been a wedding minister and have officiated at over 1,200 wedding ceremonies. I have also founded a company called WeddingChaplain.com. It is through both of these experiences that a passion has grown within me to write a book on wedding/ marriage ministry and its connection to church evangelism.
The Book’s working title is: Before God and These Witnesses with a subtitle “How to Grow Your Church, Reach Your Community and Change the Culture While You Are at it.”
The goal is to teach pastors and churches how to start a marriage ministry at their church to grow or revitalize their church, and to leave a lasting impact in their community. Simply put, weddings are a mission field, a church planter’s dream, and an amazing way to revitalize a dying church.
Through my personal and ministerial journey, it has become clear that my lifetime experiences and insight into relationships have helped give me an understanding of what young couples are looking for today. This insight needs to be shared with a wider audience.
To do this, I have spent hours researching options and feel that the company, Sermon to Book, led by Caleb Breakey, is the way to reach this goal. I have fully vetted this company and have confidence in their ability to help me write, market, and distribute this book. The book will be self-published which means I will own 100 percent of the rights. In addition, there is an opportunity that the book could be picked up by a publishing company once a final manuscript in hand.
The goal is to raise $12K to launch the book with a stretch goal of $15K. Obviously, the more I raise, the more I can invest in marketing, promotion, and distribution. As with everything in my life, I will trust the Lord with this project. Please join me in this adventure. My crowdfunding campaign partner is Fundly. They have the flexibility and specific tools to get things off the ground. At the beginning of this story, I invited you to be a part of this project. Here is your chance. Any amount helps even if you just share this idea and my story with others.
