Everyone’s been doing a ton of walking this year right!? Well we decided to take it to the next level and set a goal for ourselves to walk a marathon! We are each fundraising for a charity that we are passionate about!
Everyone who knows me, knows that I am strongly involved in a company called Threads for Education. I have been to Ghana twice to help volunteer in the school there, Semanhyia American School, while also sending supplies and a bus over to the school as well. The people that I have met there, including all the teachers and students, have changed my life and I want to continue to support them as much as I can. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not able to travel there this summer for our own health and safety as well as theirs. Instead, we have been trying to brainstorm ways we can help just as much from the US.
My friends and I were inspired by a friend (shoutout to Christina!!) to walk a marathon. We've all been walking a ton while we are home - why not set a goal for ourselves and walk it together? While doing this is an accomplishment in itself - we decided to take it to the next level and make a fundraiser out of it. We are each picking a fundraiser that we are passionate about, and mine is Threads for Education.
We are asking to have sponsors for each mile that we walk, at $10 minumum a mile. If you would like to donate to a specific mile, make sure you include that and we will give you a shout out on our Instagram & Facebook stories once we get to that mile! We've planned out our route & we will do it all while being safe - now all we need is YOU!
All the money that is donated to my marathon will be donated directly to the One Thread Foundation, which is our nonprofit that supports Threads for Education and the teachers and students in Ghana. Please head to threads-for-education.com or onethreadfoundation.org for more information on what we do! Thank you in advance for your donations - please don't hesitate to send me a message with any questions :)
Can’t donate? Please share. Even a quick share on Facebook can help.
The average share raises $97.
