The crisis of the bees is a crisis for us all. These precious pollinators contribute to at least 1 in 3 bites we take.
The goal of our walk is to celebrate the bees and to kick off a critical decade of healing ourselves and Mother Earth. In partnership with local climate-caring organizations and communities, funds raised will support bee habitat regeneration and conservation through education and service-based, community building programs.
This walk features a 17-mile breathtaking path through Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. This space encompasses 195,819 acres within the Mojave Desert made beautiful over millions of years by forces of nature which painted a landscape of rock and color. It is a sacred and powerful place.
Walkers will:
Benefit from the power of people and place to take in the healing spirit of this walk.
Bee the change in their best bee colors or bug outfits (Queen bees, Drones, Lady Bugs, Butterflies and more). A Sweet Sweet pot of honey awaits a best dressed participant!
Have the opportunity to be heard and published. Bee the Change, written by Chief Kindness and Lindsey Lou, will include the inspired accounts of walkers and be published following this year's Bee Walk. Inspiration may show up in the form of photos, poems, stories, oral stories, interview accounts, artwork - they will be welcome editions to the book!
