Brunswick Youth Lacrosse is joining the Wabanaki Tribes to reintroduce the Creator's game, lacrosse. The weekend will be steeped in history and, of course, play lacrosse. Donations will defray costs to the Tribes & BYL.
Last year Brunswick Youth Lacrosse were invited by the Passamaquoddy Tribe to participate in a weekend of the Creator's Game, lacrosse. The event brought together tribal youngsters and nontribal youth lacrosse players from southern Maine — approximately 20 kids ages 8-14 from Brunswick Youth Lacrosse — for a day of sport and cultural immersion. The event had several hours of instruction, games and teachings about lacrosse and its history, followed by a community pig roast, potluck and a social time featuring Native drum groups.
This year Brunswick Youth Lacrosse is returning in June and most of the Wabanaki Tribes will be participating. We're raising money to defray costs of the Wabanaki and to ensure any Brunswick Youth Lacrosse family who wants to attend can attend. We're hoping to keep this an annual event but only can with your generous contribution.
