VN Cancer Children Hope

In 2021, when Covid heavily hit Vietnam, our small charity group, Saigon Thuong, was fortunate to work with Children Oncology Hospital of Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam to provide financial assistance to 187 children from financial disadvantaged families who are battling cancers. Most of these kids’ families are poor families from rural areas of Vietnam coming to Ho Chi Minh to seek treatments for their kids. The parents are struggling just to feed their families daily, cancer medical treatments are a huge financial burden for them.

I, Quinn Le, is working in both Vietnam and the States helping my families funding our small charity, Saigon Thuong. 

 Saigon Thuong is a small charity helping orphanages and children who are in needs, mostly those orphanages locate in rural areas where it is not well known and rarely receive any donations due to rough travel paths. However, we are a family funded charity without  public fundraising. Our funds is very limited and we are only able to help the children with weekly meals and occasional medical expenses.

Since early of 2023, the recession has also hit Vietnam like the rest of the world. Families of these brave children are struggling even more and the financial burden of cancer treatments is getting overwhelmed. Some of the families have to temporarily stopping their children’ treatments due to financial reasons.

 These 187 children of the children oncology hospital are bravely battling cancer, but their families are facing an overwhelming financial burden. We, Saigon Thuong, are determined to make a difference.

This is the first time since Covid that our charity publicly fundraise. We cannot bear to see these brave children might lose their fighting chances because of financial reasons. So, we decide to fundraise and help these children a chance to continue to fight for their lives.
