I need support on my #from1to100 journey to become the 100th National President of JCI USA. This will help cover fees and travel costs along the way! Thank you so much for your support!
I joined the Jaycees back in the fall of 2009 when a group of my friends were approached by MT Jaycees State President Misty Miner, to establish a chapter of young active citizens in Billings, MT. After three weeks, we had 20+ members and began our journey to create projects and activities to positively affect the Billings community. I also personally, found the Jaycees as a great resource to help connect people as friends and make people feel like they belong to something. I've never been part of a group with such socio-economic diversity. I think this is what makes our organization unique. People can truly grow and develop when working with as a diverse array of people that are completely unlike yourself.
Now, almost ten years later, after working through and being elected or appointed to different positions within the organization, I'm working toward becoming the 100th President of JCI USA in 2020. As we approach our 100th year of being an organization, I feel I have the vision and experience to take on these upcoming roles to lead our organization into the next 100 years of existence.
This organization and its members create development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. We live in a time where it seems more important than ever to engage young adults civically and personally in their communities. We can not completely rely on our government to solve our challenges as a society. We as young people can bring our innovative and fresh ideas to the table, as well as work them through our Jaycees processes to show the action steps it will take to create solutions. The Jaycees is the platform to train and develop young people into the leaders of tomorrow. I know this to be true, because it has evolved me into who I am today.
