I grew up in a poor village in Central Vietnam. Throughout my childhood, going to a toilet during school was always one of my biggest fears, maybe even worse than having to walk over 2 km's in muddy roads to school everyday. Many of us kids would have our own little hide out spots to solve our "business" emergency. The toilet was there but it's almost noexistent because nobody used it anyway. It's old, dirty, water faucets wouldn't work, hence the unbearable smell.
I would like your help to build very simple, green, easy to use, clean and energy efficient toilets in rural schools across Vietnam. This campaign will help me get started with a pilot project, hopefully at my elementary school. They might have improved after 10 years, which I hope but I also highly doubt.
This is an article in Vietnamese about the condition of toilet sanitation in my region. Trust me, the condition of the school mentioned in this article is still 1000x better than most schools in rural Vietnam.
