Hello Good Peeps, I am Vanessa Hernandez and I am a 30 year old woman who was just diagnosed with infiltrating ductal carcinoma. What is that you ask? Breast Cancer-stage II. Here is a little bit about myself. I am a woman who loves helping her community. I have worked for non-profits for the past six years with children and families. I love to take trips and be outdoors. I have a pretty good sense of humor and love to laugh.  I love to be around positive people, family and the love of my life Vincent. I also love to party hard and I recently started being creative and picked up Mod Podging everything I can get my hands on, (thank you Pinterest.) I am an otherwise healthy young woman, with hopes, dreams and plans for the future. I did not hope, plan or dream for Cancer,(who does?) but I have it and now it is time to FIGHT. With your donation, you will help me pay for medical costs that should be, BUT are NOT covered by my insurance plan. You will help me hold onto my hopes for my future, help with the quality of life I thought was there, but now I'm needing to fight for.  I am hoping that through this experience I will make young women and men aware that breast cancer can occur at any age, whether or not you are male or female and even if it does not run in your family. I am hoping people will be proactive about their health by being your own advocate. I had this lump in my breast ten months prior to being diagnosed and my doctor assured me it was nothing. That because of my age and the fact that it does not run in my family, it was most likely a cyst. She was wrong and reflecting back on it, I am not sure why I believed her. Doctors are human and sure can't see through breasts tissue into a tumor and determine that it is benign. Thankfully, my love and bestfriend nagged at me to go back and get it checked, I did and found out that my lump was in fact malignant. Through this experience, I am hoping to create something beautiful, strong, and something I strongly believe in, Community. I am hoping that it strengthens mine and inspires others to strengthen theirs.   Any dollar amount you donate will help!  There is no way to show you the appreciation I feel for your help with this battle, but Thank you. Thank you. Thank you a million times, Thank you!
