I want to help in COVID-19 infection prevention among the at risk populations of my rural county of Vihiga in western Kenya. This will include public awareness to end stigma, discrimination & gender based violence.
My names are Evans Muswahili Ladtema. I hail from Vihiga County in western Kenya. Am 42 years old, happily married and a father of five. I have college education and am currently working on community development programs under a non-governmental organization called ASEVI. I have also benefited from numerous on-job trainings in project management and social work while working on donor funded projects in the recent past. Between 2014 and 2018, i managed a care and support project which supported 1,200 Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC). The project was funded by USAID through PATH. This health project sought to address the Social Determinants of Health among OVC who were made vulnerable because of death of parents due to HIV. Some of the OVC too had been born HIV positive. Between 2010 and 2012, I worked on a civic education as a project officer in project that sought to deepen democracy in Kenya and entrench constitutionalism. This was after Kenya had promulgated a new constitution in 2010.Am currently working as a volunteer in contact tracing and self - quarantine adherence support in the fight against COVID-19.
