On October 03-09 myself along with other volunteers will start our 154 Mile 6-day hike to raise awareness for Veterans in Pain (V.I.P.) walking parts of the Coastal Trail from Piedras Blancas Light Station to Lompoc.
Our County has more than 18.2 million veterans. More than nine million veterans are served each year by the Department of Veterans Affairs. That means that at least one out of every 10 houses in our neighborhoods are veteran households. At least half of veterans that need help for diagnose chronic pain, depression or anxiety brought on from injuries do not seek treatment. That is why drug and alcohol abuse is a problem in the veteran population, and suicides are more frequent than in the general population.
And it is also why I personally volunteer and support the nonprofit Veterans in Pain (V.I.P.). Veterans In Pain is a simple concept. They honor our warriors with Treatments include but are not limited to OrthoBiologics, physical therapy, cryogenics, oxygen therapy, and more.
Veterans In Pain offers all these services for free to veterans and active service members that otherwise could not afford them. In addition, V.I.P. works with so many travel partners across the country that can offer additional savings for Veterans as they travel for treatment.
As a Veteran myself I cannot thank you enough for considering a commitment to this cause to honor your local families who have given so much!
