Quincy is my 6 year old tabby cat who suddenly became very ill at the beginning of July. We're not sure exactly what happened, but his vet says that he likely had a neurological event similar to a stroke that has caused him to have a lot of trouble walking and orienting his body, has resulted in the loss of much of his vision, and led to him not eating for a prolonged period of time. I have already taken Quincy to the emergency vet twice, as well as multiple appointments at my regular vet to try to determine what illness he has and how to manage his symptoms. About a week ago he had to have surgery to have a feeding tube inserted so that he would be able to get enough food to recover if he is able to. It is still very touch and go as to whether he will be ok. I have spent around $800 in vet bills already, and there will be continuing costs for further vet appointments to monitor his feeding tube and general condition, as well as medication and special food. I adopted Quincy when he was only 9 months old and he means the world to me. I have cared for him his entire life, and it is devastating to think that his life might come to an end at only 6 years old. I have been more than willing to spend what I had to until this point to give him the best chance of recovery from this illness, but I am at the point where I just cannot spend more money on his veterinary bills and continue to support myself at the same time. Any amount of money that you could spare to help me continue to care for my sick kitty would be so incredibly appreciated by both me and Quincy. All funds will go toward covering past vet bills as well as continued veterinary care. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about Quincy's situation. I will continue to post updates on his progress. I am so grateful for any generosity that we receive.
