In honor of Veronica Sanchez, a former member of the BPHS Leo Club, we are launching the Veronica Sanchez Memorial Scholarship Fund. Please help us reach our goal of $2,500 to continue this scholarship for years to come.
Veronica Sanchez was a sophomore at Baldwin Park High School. She was a remarkable student, taking rigors AP courses, played in the Baldwin Park Braves' Entertainment Corps, was involved through school programs such as AVID, and helping the Baldwin Park community as a member of the National Honor Society and our very own Leo Club. Veronica had a compassionate, motherly nature with a smile that lit up a room brighter than a thousand suns, never letting a challenge discourage her and always being optimistic regardless of the outcome.
In late-March of 2020, Veronica passed away from a coma as a result of a high fever. To continue her legacy, we are creating the Veronica Sanchez Memorial Scholarship Fund in her name to commemorate her contributions to our school community through her wonderful character.
The Veronica Sanchez Memorial Scholarship will be a $500 scholarship awarded to eligible seniors that apply. More information will be released on the application start and end dates once this fundraiser has concluded.
Our goal is to reach $2,500 for this scholarship to last at least 5 years or more. Only with your generosity, will we be able to fulfill our goal of awarding one $500 scholarship each year to a deserving BPHS senior.
From helping pay off college tuition to helping purchase textbooks, your contribution, big or small, can help a Baldwin Park High School student be able to afford their post-secondary education, an achievement that Veronica had always dreamt of, as she had aspired to attend Harvard University.
Together, we can make paying for college easier for students from low-income backgrounds in the Baldwin Park community.
