URGENT: Stable Housing by June 15 x Black Nonbinary Artist

hi folks!

im a black queer nonbinary artist from Philly. currently I’m crowdfunding 7500 to help me pay my portion of debt and balance to my current landlord/leasing co, to get enough funds to secure a new spot, and if possible general support for art supplies, food, and transportation.

very much at the end of a ridiculous roommate situation, but she left us with an empty room and hella debt. my roommates and i been covering the balance best we all can but at this point, it's absorbing my income and i need help.

Breakdown:

$616.25 by May 6 ~ back payment

$1200 by May 13 back payment + rent

$2100 by the 23rd, would cover approx first last and security for new place

$3000 by May 29 ~ my bday!! would be set with rent for current place, money for new place

$4000 by June 6 for minimum for additional moving fees, packing, car/Uhaul rental etc

$5000-7500 by June 15 would put me at a comfortable and livable space, help with any additional costs in case a place isn’t secured yet, and if possible help with food and laptop repair, and any contingency fees.

Immediate Context:

Last summer 2 other roommates and myself were living with a terrible, and manipulative roommate. In the end, she refused to pay her portion of rent and utilities during her last month here, refused to sign any formal document that would’ve kicked her out, and lied to our leasing office so that they would refuse to help. toxic roommate did eventually leave the apartment, but without still signing any formal leave papers on the joint/individual lease, and left us with a balance and an empty room that the leasing office didn’t compromise on. in my last crowdfunding effort, the 2 other roommates and i successfully raised enough money to pay off the balance on the empty room for the time being. currently, however, the room is biting us in our ass again and our lease ends at the end of June.

if you want to support my art, please don’t forget that also means supporting the person behind said art. i’ve been applying to a lot of grants but won’t hear back until after i need to move. i need to live in a safe environment, and want to continue making my versions of queer home. 

for the last couple of years, really, I’ve been dealing with housing insecurity. by the grace of loved ones, friends, family, and god, i’ve been able to at least have somewhere to lay my head, go to work, and continue on my path. for the past year, i have lived in a stable apartment, and that was then disrupted...

So, im looking for any and all support as i try to move into a new, safe, space with a friend -- a place that i can stay in and maintain for the next couple of years without worry or having to think about moving year after year after year.
