Support Emerging JA Leaders!

The money you donate will directly support travel stipends for the Denver Summit in May 2022 for delegates of the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) Classes of 2020 and 2021, who did not get the chance to meet in person due to COVID-19.

The ELP program is one of the flagship leadership programs of the U.S.-Japan Council (USJC).  ELP identifies, cultivates, and empowers the current and next generation of Japanese American leaders to build lasting people-to-people connections and strengthen U.S.-Japan relations.  Each year, a new ELP class of Japanese American professionals aged 24-35 is selected from across public and private industry to participate in leadership education and develop a network to support the growth of emerging leaders for a lifetime.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, USJC’s Emerging Leaders Program activities for both 2020 and 2021 classes, in addition to most USJC activities, were held virtually.  Acknowledging that increasing engagement and retention is critical for USJC’s viability, with the two virtual classes making up 14% of USJC’s associate membership and ELPs representing 18% of USJC’s total membership, we organized this campaign to provide in-person leadership development activities and travel stipends for the 2020 and 2021 ELP classes to attend the U40 Denver Summit.

Our goal is to raise $16,300 by April 30, 2022.
