5000+ players tryout for USA-LABC teams annually across the United States. And this year, we are so proud to say that our boy was selected to represent Team USA at the USA-LABC tournament in the DR this August.
Sergio and I are extremely proud and excited to share this journey with you all. As most of you know Maurisio has been playing baseball since he was 5. When he was younger it was our way of getting him to open up, make friends and be comfortable around other kids. Although he needed his comfort (Dad) right there with him, he evolved to this amazing young man he is today. When he steps on the field, he is outgoing, no longer shy and is determined to do his very best each at bat and each time his feet touch the field. Never in our wildest dreams did we didn't think baseball would turn into what it has for our family today. He lives and breathes everything baseball. From all the long nights, early mornings, extra practices, extra time on and off the field, this boy is always dragging his Dad to extra day of practice so he can put in the work it takes to make him better than he was yesterday. There is a lot of time spent away from home but it has been a blessing to watch our little boy grow into this young man who is determined, focused, driven and very hardworking. Sometimes, we have to remind him that it's ok to take a day off but in reality for him it's not. And that is something we can't take away from him. He does what he does because he loves it, not because it's expected. Not only does he give it his all when he’s on the field, off the field he does the same for school as well, he has managed to keep a 3.71 GPA. Our family has lived this baseball life for many years, with Sergio coaching Maurisio along the way, we’ve gone through many obstacles, learned many lessons, gone through wins and losses, given hugs for many victories as well as wiped away tears when things were a little too hard to handle. But through it all season after season, he is always ready and determined to do it all over again.
Please consider donating to acknowledge his hard work and send him on this once in a lifetime journey. If you are able to donate any amount to help Maurisio represent Team USA, we’d truly appreciate it. Your donations will help with travel costs, tournament fees, equipment and uniforms.
We truly appreciate anything, every little bit helps. We look at your support as a blessing to Maurisio and our family. We appreciate you believing in Maurisio’s journey and his dreams of continuing his baseball career as much as we do.
Thank you in advance for your help and generosity! <3
