I'm raising money to support my midwifery journey. Donations will go towards academic cost including tuition, books, supplies and fees to sit for the NARM. If you feel inclined please support and share!
Why would people want to help me? What makes me think people will want to donate their hard earned money? Hesistantly, I sit here thinking of the right things to say to make my situation more...compelling...inspiring...special.
The fact of the matter is that the change needs to begin with me, I have to admit that I need help. With that I come asking you to help me on my journey to becoming a Midwife.
For as long as I can remember I have been called into a life of healing and have finally come to the point of surrendering to my calling. Unbeknownst to me, my calling has pulled me into the direction of an un-beaten path. After years of uncertainty of where I would end up in the healthcare system I have been led to a profession that I believe I will make the most impact, birthwork through midwifery!
Midwifery has been around for ages, however, we have turned away from it and continue to be mistreated throughout pregnancy, labor and birth. As I see increasing injustices being done towards women, especially women of color, I want to be able to bring us back to our roots. I want to be able to provide more favorable options, support, and care by relearning and educating my community.
I only ask for your support to help me continue my journey!
I have already applied, been accepted, and began my midwifery program. Currently, I am enrolled at National Midwifery Institute and they are a MEAC accredited institution, however, they are not a Title V school meaning I am not able to get financial aid assistance with cost.
Total cost of the program and all other expenses is around $30,000.
Midwifery supplies: $2,000
NARM Exam fees and prep: $2,000
If you do not want to give a monetary donation I have included my amazon wishlist with some of the books and supplies I will need.
No amount is too big or too small and if you choose not to give please share as all support is appreciated.
Can’t donate? Please share. Even a quick share on Facebook can help.
The average share raises $97.
