Pay large monthly Vet bill; treat heartworm positive dogs; rescue animals in danger of being euthanized at area shelters/pounds; pay for spay/neuter for all who need it; buy food and pet supplies for rescued dogs & cats
In 2018, Underdog Rescue of Arkansas rescued 450 dogs and cats that had been abused, neglected and/or abandoned.
We were able to successfully place many into foster homes and the majority of them have moved on to their forever homes.
This year, we are only half the way through the year, and we have already rescued 200 dogs and cats. We expect our numbers this year to greatly exceed the number saved last year.
Underdog Rescue of Arkansas is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Monroe County in South Arkansas.
We are in a poor, rural part of the state. Many people here do not value the lives the pets they have, so we end up rescuing them, vetting them, and placing them in foster homes until their forever homes are found.
Currently, there are 2 dogs that are Heartworm Positive that are waiting for their treatment. Treatment will begin when we have the funds to pay for the treatment and medical foster homes to care for them during the process.
Our nearest veterinarian is 30 miles away. We currently owe more than $4,000 to the vet because most of the dogs and cats come in sick, abused, and/or unaltered. Many come in Heartworm Positive; with mange; and suffering from long-term starvation.
We do not receive any government funding. All our funding comes from donations and fundraisers.
Please donate to help us keep our vet bills paid so we can continue to bring other dogs and cats into our program; do TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) for feral cat colonies; rescue animals that are in danger of being euthanized at area shelters/pounds; rescue animals from situations that are abusive or neglectful; educate and promote spay/neuter; pay for spay/neuter for those who can't afford it and for the animals coming into our program; assist the elderly with vetting and food for their animals; and provide adoption services.
