Typhoon Goni, aka Rolly, is barrelling across the Philippines, bringing with it "catastrophic" 225km/h (140mph) winds and torrential rainfall.

The Philippines is still suffering from the impacts of the pandemic. So close to the holidays, the Philippines is about to face a very challenging month. 

Thirteen million people in and around the Philippine capital are at risk from heavy rain, winds, flooding, and possible storm surges. Power outages were reported across parts of the city on Sunday afternoon. Homes have been damaged, and roads are inundated with flash flooding.
