Join us for the second ever Turtle’s Run Cribbage Tournament to support the Paul Cheney Foundation. Saturday, February 16, 2019. Donate at least $20 to play. Just want to hangout, eat appetizers, and get cool stuff ...
The Paul Cheney Foundation was started in 2015 after we lost Paul to suicide. Since that time we have raised funds to help raise awareness about suicide and have donated to Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE), have started the Paul Cheney Legacy scholarship (given to a graduating senior at Apple Valley High School who played football or wrestled and demonstrates Paul’s competitive spirit), and have contributed to community and high school efforts such as Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) and Apple Valley High School’s Sunshine Club (a resource for students that are struggling with a variety of issues).
Paul was a bright, funny, gifted athlete and while we knew he struggled, he hid his pain from us. We are working to help others; to make sure resources are available and that those in need are aware of those resources. We want to honor Paul’s memory in a positive way by awarding the scholarship annually and contribute to organizations that can help others who are struggling.
Join us on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the American Legion, Apple Valley.
