Wow!! Your awesome generosity helped raise over $455 on our campaign Truth Talks (by True Arrow Events).
Let's keep it going!
True Arrow Events began three years ago with Sam McClelland single-handedly touring Jordan Peterson in Australia. To shape public opinion further (and faster) we are launching Truth Talks: a series of video interviews similar in style to John Anderson’s Conversations. A known, highly loveable, witty and very intelligent Australian actor will be conducting the interviews and an up and coming videographer and editor will be making everything look nice.
Democracy relies on the exchange of ideas. On the free flow of information. As citizens we need to be able to make informed decisions without fear or favour. To challenge the status quo takes courage - especially today.
As conversations contrary to the approved opinion are forced underground, the Truth talks give speakers a platform to stand up for truth against sinister forces. In the face of institutional corruption, it is more important than ever that we find the courage to speak our truths before a cabal of vested interests undermines future prosperity.
As a community, we find ourselves at a juncture where we must stand up to the mob, or surrender our liberty. But how does the individual fight against vested interests? After observing prominent socialists successfully amplify their experts to shape public opinion, Friedrich Hayek's peers founded Mont Pelerin Society in 1947 to counter influence and inform public debate. Through listening to varied experts, one can initiate valid conversation and debate, empowered by knowledge and then spread this through their community, influencing their peers, creating a shared understanding. But as our intellectuals are more frequently de-platformed, new platforms need to be provided and sustained.
Without exercising our democratic right to free speech, none of this is possible. We have ceded the philosophical ground in the culture war for too long. The Truth Talks aim to redress this imbalance by presenting speakers of renown who can inspire confidence and fire the imagination on a range of topics, helping create local and nation-wide change, counteracting the regressive nature of the debate in Australia.
“If you don’t fight for them daily your freedoms will slowly be taken away.” Goethe
Special interest Australian and International guests. The interviews will portray honesty, integrity, truth, depth of character, humour, emotion, knowledge, wisdom, compassion, empathy, opinion.
Current issues in Australia and internationally, philosophy, history, psychology, anthropology, sustaining culture, government overreach, China, men's issues, mental health, countering aggressive socialism, identity politics and political correctness, getting PC out of the Arts. All with the zest of a lime and a peppering of humour.
We will still continue to do live events once the government gives us more clarification. So we’ve been setting up a studio in a secret Melbourne location. We are so close to having all the equipment needed. As we’d love to crack on and get started we need a bit of help. It's certainly been a tough year for events (and income).
Equipment attained: 2 Canon cameras, studio room, 3 heavy duty tripods, Zoom lapel Bluetooth mic and camera pack, Zoom audio room recorder, Studio lights, Post production equipment, bits and bobs.
We need one more camera for that third and vital viewing angle: $800 (semi-professional)
3 x 256 GB SD cards (level 10): 3 x $140 = $420
Zoom F1 Field Recorder + Lavalier Mic: $289
2 Canon camera batteries: 2 x $70 = $140
