My husband James and I will be moving with our children to Kenya in December of this year, to start street ministry with the street children of Kenya through the NonProfit organization Marvelous One Mission International (MOMI). Missions has always been near and dear to our hearts as that is even how we met, while I was on a missions trip with a team working at the church he attended in Kenya. With my husband being from Kenya originally, he has experienced some of the needs first hand. With his experience and connection to the culture it will help all the more reaching the street children. We recently felt the call to move back to Kenya after 6 years in the states, to work with the street children. A study commissioned by the Consortium of Street Children (CSC) estimated in 2007 that there were 250,000 - 300,000 street children in Kenya alone and 60,000 of those in Nairobi, Kenya. Some of these children as young as 5 years old. We have linked with a new non profit that shares the same desire to help the street children. We plan to start with daily feedings for 100 children a day or more God willing. We will personally cook all food and transport to where the children are, we will share the gospel with them as well as provide bibles and prayer and school fees, we also will rent a building to hold weekly services geared directly to them. The 400,000 we are trying to raise by December will sustain the street ministry for two years as well as provide a ministry vehicle and the basic needs of our family. Once on the ground we desire to find land to purchase and build a facility for the street children that will provide training, study resources, showers, dining hall for the daily feedings, a church, a library, and a child care center. you can find more detail at our website www.m1mi.org or you can email us personally at contact@m1mi.org. Thank you for considering our organization as you give.
