I am collecting donations for my upcoming humanitarian trip to Ukraine. I am a Paramedic with 10 years of experience. Working with the MoD, I will be taking over an established program that provides medical training/aid.
As stated elsewhere, I am traveling to Ukraine to volunteer for approximately one month. I am a Houston area Paramedic with a decade of 911 EMS experience. I am going to Ukraine to replace the founder of a working non-profit that by working with local authorities educates civilian healthcare workers on battlefield medical care, first aid, and CPR.
In addition to experience and competency in treating the type of injuries caused by warfare, I am also an AHA ACLS and BLS CPR instructor with experience teaching CPR and other first aid. I will also assist Ukraine as a Paramedic--Just like I do in the United States, I will help treat and transport injured and ill patients from the scene or to a higher level of care. I have secured large amounts of donated medical supplies already and will distribute and train locals on their use.
I am asking for donations to help me cover the cost of travel, supplies, food, and other expenses. I am also accepting donations to cover my expenses and bills while at home. I want to make sure that my financial obligations will be the last thing on my mind while I am gone.
If there are funds left, I will ensure they are used to help those suffering in Ukraine directly. I have turned down opportunities to go to Ukraine as a paid contractor. My goal is not to profit from my trip to Ukraine in any way, I just hope to break even and reduce the great personal cost this trip will require. Please consider helping in any way you can. Please spread this around! Even if your donation is modest every bit will help!
