Hi friends! If you find a moment, please help us support our heart warrior and our family as we work to navigate medical bills, medical equipment and supplies. Thank you so much!
Thomas Lyle DiNuoscio was born on April 4, 2021 (Easter Sunday!) and has been making tidal waves since his grand entrance into this world! He was born with a CHD called Tetralogy Of Fallot so that meant that at just 4 days old, he went back to the Cath Lab for his first intervention. He had two stents placed in his ductus arteriosus that allowed his heart to function a little better. Just after he was moved back up to the CICU following his cath intervention, he suffered a severe brain bleed that, the doctors told us, would most likely leave him paralyzed or severely disabled. But, by golly the next morning, he was already beginning to move his little toes! He was determined to show those doctors who was boss! We got to take our sweet baby boy home for the first time to meet big sissy after 44 days in the CICU! At 2 months old, he went back to the hospital to have a VP shunt placed. The surgery went well, however following his transfer back up to the CICU, he went into cardiac arrest and we watched as the doctors performed CPR on our boy's lifeless body. And by the grace of God, he made his heart rate bounce right back to 144 and said "Haha! Just wanted to scare you one more time! I'm okay, guys!" Ugh! my mom heart was so broken that night and yet so relieved all at once. I was just glad those amazing docs were there to help save our son's life. We brought him home again two weeks later. Fast forward to August 24th, 2021. Thomas went back to the hospital, yet again, for his first open heart surgery and his official "full repair". This time, the anesthesiologists had a very thorough safety plan in place and he handled this massive surgery like an absolute boss! Overall, Thomas has already proven to everyone he meets, just how determined he is. I have no doubt that this little boy will move mountains one day soon. But for now, I have vowed to always strive to be Tough Like Thomas. My sweet baby boy, forever and always.
