Fundraising for:
Sum.It For The Forest 2017

From Tony Greaves

I started hiking in the White Mountains less than a year ago as part of my own personal recovery from ailments that had haunted me for years. I am honored to give back because the WMNF changed my life forever.

Friends,

Here are the results from the first week of fundraising. I am completely overwhelmed by the support the jazz guitar community has recently shown me and I believe this to be a turning point in my relationship to music and perhaps my life as a whole. I'll get straight to the point...

There is absolutely no question that Triad Pairs for Jazz Guitar will be coming out this year. I will present this work as a 3-volume e-book W/audio examples at a price point of $15 per volume. Depending on the success of the project, I may repackage the works into a final print edition but this will prove to be costly and affordable to very few simply because of the sheer volume of what I have assembled.

Also, I would like to say that the response to my recent project has changed my attitude toward playing out semi-professionally again. First, allow me to explain...

This week I had the privilege to experience a life-changing traverse in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains Region in New Hampshire. This trip affirmed for me that it would be in the best interest of my physical, emotional, and psychological well-being for me to pursue employment and residence in New Hampshire immediately. From this moment forward, I will be relentlessly pursuing this objective on a daily basis. Once re-established, I will also pursue connections with local musicians, refine my repertoire, and start to consider any playing opportunities that might be available to me. This is a big decision for me and one that I don't take lightly. Anyone that knows my background will understand what I'm referring to.

Finally, check back later today as I will be launching a new Triad Pairs Instagram account. This will be something like a "Lick of the week" project that will feature short ideas from myself and some of the musicians that have influenced me. It should fun, easy to put together, and engaging for many people. The first lick is pretty wild and modern sounding, so I would imagine many will be interested.

Anyway, thanks again for breathing life back into my musical world.-Tone
