We are a group of former Longhorn Coworkers pulling together to support the current coworkers who have been displaced by the fire at the Toco Hills location. Below is the news story.
A thirty-year old Toco Hill neighborhood eatery was destroyed by fire overnight Tuesday. The fire broke out around 2 a.m. at the Longhorn Steakhouse restaurant on the 2800 block of North Druid Hills Road. When DeKalb Fire authorities arrived on the scene they say they saw flames shooting from the back of the building. Witnesses say they heard an explosion and then they saw the roof blow off. Fire officials think the fire began in the kitchen but they have not yet determined what caused the blaze. No one was in the restaurant at the time the fire began. Firefighters are still on the scene conducting an investigation. A spokesperson for Darden Restaurants released a statement on Wednesday:
"We are extremely thankful no one was inside the restaurant at the time of the fire. We appreciate the efforts of DeKalb County firefighters and are grateful they are all safe. Right now, the well-being of our team members is our number one priority. We are already working to place them at other LongHorn locations, as well as other Darden restaurants, in Atlanta."
