Tippy was brought in by an animal rescue with two other dogs for kennel cough which we treated at our cost. The doctor saw Tippy had had a broken leg for some time and said "we can take care of that when his cold clears up". The rescue owner said "he's fine it's been like that for 6 months"! The following week she brought Tippy in to have him euthanized for trying to attack cats. Our vet had rescue surrender him at no charge, had to amputate his leg and he was adopted to a staff member. Tippy ended up getting diabetes at a young age and became blind due to bilateral cataracts that impaired his vision. The doctor, through a rummage sale, with the local radio station raised 2500.00 and put in 1500.00 of her own money to have Tippy's cataracts removed at the animal eye doctor and she put new lenses in so he could immediately chase cats--but not catch them!
