Prom is the big event that each and every student is so excited about. This is one important day in their life and they want to make it perfect. But on the other hand, for some prom means spending a lot of money. Everyone agrees that this is an event that requires a not so humble budget. From to tickets and transportation, families spend a small fortune to make this day special.

And we must be aware that there are people who just can’t afford to spend so much money in one night. Seems like someone will miss a big day in just because they can’t afford it. Luckily, other students, teachers, and parents can join and help this cause. If you want to help someone but not sure we bring you the things that you need to do when students can’t even afford their prom dress!

The prom tickets are one significant cost, and not everyone can afford this too. Lots of student groups by their teachers do fundraising for different events. The idea is to gather a specific cause by doing some activities. And there are so many different ways in which teachers or students can do fundraising. This specific fund will cover the ticket costs for the students that can’t afford them. Lots of schools do this, as this is a nice way to motivate teamwork.

Don’t have an idea on how to raise money for prom tickets? These ideas will come handy:

  • Organize a fun party or a movie night at school. The money from the tickets will g straight to the prom fund.

  • Have day fair at school can bring homemade crafts and candies for selling.

  • Car washing is a perfect activity for spring. Gather volunteers and find your customers.

Non-profit organization already deal with this issue. Some of them even organize events, where people donate prom dresses. When the prom is over, usually the long prom dress will never be worn again. So instead of keeping them somewhere in the wardrobe, people decide to donate them. Prom clothes such as dresses and suits are only worn once, so they can make another person happy. If there is no such organization, you can make an event your school. Create a poster with information and ask people to participate.

Prom requires beauty services both for girls and boys. Hair trimming, styling, and makeup are a must for this big day. Since all of these costs can add up, you can ask for the local beauty salons for help. they will be happy to give a few free services in order to help.
