As a CASA I see the toll it takes on children to be removed from their family and placed into foster care. Often these children are suffering from ptsd, anxiety, depression and loss. At some point they will begin visiting their family, which is often equally as emotional. A therapy dog helps to decrease stress and anxiety, as well as give the child something positive and fun to focus on. Suddenly seeing mommy and daddy is doable. Or sometime returning to the foster parent is stressful.Again, our little hero comes in and works his magic.

Parents may be anxious about seeing their child... Therapy dog helps ease that stress enough to make it happen.

I have 4 dogs, and 3 little girls I am currently a CASA for.My oldest told me her dog had died while she was in foster care and she really missed her dog.So I brought my 2 smallest dogs to visit with the girls and they were thrilled. They chatted and petting and rubbed my dogs the entire 2 hours visit. It had not really occured to me they would be missing their pets too.

I am raising enough money for the dog, the vet bills, some training for the dog and me. and crate, etc. Please consider even a small donation. The children are well worth it.
