The Plate Project needs your help! We are a non-profit service organization that feeds the homeless of Austin every Sunday at The ARCH. We are solely dependent on your donations!
The Story Behind The Plate Project!
Austin has an overwhelmingly prominent homeless community. Walking around campus or driving through central Austin, there is an inevitability that you will see up to 10 homeless individual per sq/mi. I constantly felt compelled (for the 18 months I've lived here) to give money to every homeless person I was approached by. If I didnt have any cash I would feel obligated to go purchase food or drink on their behalf. Frankly, I was going to go broke if I continued to serve in this capacity. Thus, The Plate Project was born. We are a non-profit registered student organization at The University of Austin. I have recently been recognized by UT's African American Affairs as Spotlight Student for my achievements in service with TPP.
Our first service day will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014.
We have a mission to feed the hungry, serve the needy and inspire ALL!
Hebrews 13:16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
