8 children die from gun violence EVERY DAY Along with 75 adult Americans. That means a person dies from gun violence every 17 minutes in America. Yes, people kill people, but without easy access to guns it would be a lot harder.
The gun lobby (led by the NRA) has given over $21 million to Congress since 1990. They try to convince Americans that access to guns equals more freedom. Could it be that the gun industry has an ulterior motive to push for less gun control? Maybe the fact that they make millions of dollars each year through the sale of firearms?
Our nation has suffered too much at the hands of dangerous people who use guns to commit horrific acts of violence. As President Obama said following the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy, “We won’t be able to stop every violent act, but if there is even one thing that we can do to prevent any of these events, we have a deep obligation, all of us, to try.”
Reduce the rate of gun violence within South East Washington DC by 50% through the implementation of technology based projects conducted by adolescents ages 13 – 19. Teens will be challenged to identify objective resolutions by using Scientific Methods.
