Update #4

The Hill Slide is OPEN and students are loving it. After a few months of diligently watering the sod (thank you to Cindy, Julie, and all of our parent volunteers for your help with this!), we have finally opened up the hill slide for students. It is nothing short of a hit and we love watching them enjoy it.

The pergola is also in progress to cover the new sandbox! (Thank you to The Peretin family, Steven Willis, Larry Huba, Ronald Diallo & family, Aaron & Austin Morris, Andy Loetz & family for your help!)

We are still just over $15,000 shy of our goal for the Outdoor Classroom. In order to complete Phase 2 of the project, we need your help! Please consider donating to help see this project through. Thank you so much for your continued support of MSGL.

Update #4

They put the "hill" in "hill slide"!

This week, the Adventurous Child finished installing the gorgeous new structure and a truckload of soil was delivered to create the hill around it. Friday, sod was laid by some helpful volunteers (thank you!!) and we are building a team of parent volunteers to help with the important task of watering it over the next few weeks.

In the meantime, the sandbox is ready to go! 5.5 tons of sand were delivered and that project is coming to a close.
Thanks again to our generous supporters for their financial contributions that are allowing Phase 1 to happen. Without you all, none of this work would be possible!

Special thanks to Larry Huba for sharing his expertise this, to Doug Garwood and Karen Reese for picking up the sod, and to Patrick Joseph, Jarod Markley, Jeremy Heath, Steve Gotlund, Joseph Peretin, Chloe, Cindy and Doug Garwood for their help with the sod and sand. We could not have done it without you!

Update #2

The Adventurous Child is here and the new sandbox is almost complete!

The weather has finally allowed us to get the ball rolling on the Hill Slide. The Adventurous Child is here from Cincinnati and is working hard to get the new structure in place. Once it is installed, we will have soil delivered and a hill will be built around the structure.

Last week, two hardworking MSGL parents worked to build us a brand new, larger, and more durable sandbox! It is located in the back by building B and will be complete very soon! Thank you to Andy Loetz and Sean Scott for braving the heat and creating a beautiful piece for our Outdoor Classroom.

We are again grateful for the generous support we have already received and look forward to the changes that will continue to happen in the Outdoor Classroom at MSGL.

Update #1

We are over 2/3 of the way to our goal and we couldn't be more excited and grateful for the support we have received.

Phase 1 of the campaign is coming along great! Needless to say, the rain has impacted the timeline but there is still lots of progress being made. The grounds have been prepped and are ready for some new soil and The Adventurous Child will be coming to install the new hill slide on July 8! We received a sneak peek of the custom piece that was built for our space (shown below) and we can't wait to see it installed!

Due to the change in timeline, we decided to move forward early with the sandbox project and it is in the works for this summer, as well!

We will continue to keep you updated as we progress with our Outdoor Classroom. Thank you again to all of our supporters!
