Our Little Family is trying to raise money to be able to keep a roof over our heads for another couple weeks, while being able to afford necessities such as food, diapers, and any other costs that come up along the way.
We Finally Did It!
As a family, it is so very difficult to admit that we are stuck. Not only does it kind of hurt our pride, it also makes us feel almost like were less of parents to be asking for help, financially.
Growing up in Sonoma County, the land of the grapes, everyone's child hood here should be fruitful, exciting and stable. But that is not the case for a lot of us family's here. It is typical now for the average family to be in the poverty level, and I personally know a lot of homeless family's. Unfortunately, we are one of those, stuck in a rut doesn't even begin to cover all that were going through.
We are a very different family, though, than most of the other homeless family's we see everyday. We do not have a vehicle. Taking the bus is fun for our little man, but its exhausting, expensive, and inconvenient. We have been making everything work, and then some for over a year.
We finally are on the precipice of this lame rollercoaster ride that is homelessness, as we have been accepted into the Housing Stabilization Program, and We both have jobs. Our son is also on several waitlists for day care. So, at the moment, Both my fiancé and I have to work part time to be able to watch our son.
We also have so much coming to us, all because of the hard work we have been doing. We cant accept everything to happen over night, that is why we decided that it doesn't hurt to at least ask for a little help.
With this help we are about to receive, this will allow us to reduce our stress in what feels like an impending doom. We will be able to continue to pay for application fee's, and feel good about taking time as a family to go to the park, weather permitting.
Thank you for your time in at the least reading a little about us. I could, and want to write more but, its 8pm and some little guy is ready for me to cuddle him!
We will post updates as the days go on, and we want to try hard at continuing to succeed.
