The Dry Year Project

The Dry Year Project

From Robert Brennan

The Dry Year Project has a dual purpose. Firstly, to help people (who want to) to give up alcohol for a minimum one year, and secondly, to raise as much money as possible for the most deserving charities around.

What is The Dry Year Project?

The Dry Year Project is a Facebook Group designed to help people (who want to) to drink less alcohol, and to simultaneously raise money for the most deserving charities around.

You can find the group here:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/814021525613217

Originally, the group was set up to help people who were already committed to a ‘Dry January’ to keep their ‘Dry’ status for the rest of the year.

It soon became clear that was too restrictive, as not everyone who wanted to give up alcohol was having a 'Dry January', and people were likely to want to join at any point in the year to begin their journey.

So the Dry Year Project was born, with the ultimate goal of helping everyone who joins to have a full ‘Dry Year’ as soon as possible.

After the achievement of the first ‘Dry Year’ it is then up to the individuals how they would like to proceed, whether to continue to drink less in perpetuity or to choose the ‘Dry Life’ path.

Joining Requirements and Charity

Anyone can request to join the group via Facebook, and will just have to answer a few quick questions. Members will however be selected carefully in order to ensure the group experiences the maximum collective success rate possible.

Should you be eligible to join, the final requirement is that you must donate £50 to the Dry Year Project fundraising page.

Each month there will be a 'pot' of money, amassed from member donations to allocate to charity. The destination of this will be decided by a simple poll, based on member suggestions.

As well as the £50 joining donation members will also be encouraged to consider donating some of the money they have saved from not drinking alcohol to the fund.

In this way, everyone in the group will greatly boost their own health and personal finances whilst raising money for deserving causes, it is a win, win, win.

To support the group, we have a team of 5 incredible mentors, all of whom are ‘Dry Lifers’! And myself, who has helped many people free themselves from all manner of addiction over my career as a coach, hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner, meditation and mindfulness tutor.

The group will feature recommended reading, videos to watch, videos and posts from myself and the mentors and general support and assistance to help people achieve their goals and to become stronger, healthier, wealthier and happier!

Thank you for your support
