Our campfire program is one that campers remember and witness Jesus through vibrant plays, skits and music. We are raising funds for new sound, light and music equipment as well as funds for new seating and staging.

Every camper at big lake experiences Campfire and for many campers it is an experience where they see Jesus in a special way.
A camper during one of our programs had been oddly silent. The counselor had noticed and talked with the camper. They had moved back and talked and as they did the camper shared a lot of pain, hurt, and brokenness they were dealing with. After a while of chatting they came back into the program. As it soon ended the closing song was sang. In the middle of the song the camper had burst into tears. They had sung “You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing... You say I am strong when I think I am weak”. They said that the lyrics felt like it was God talking to them and that they felt a warmness that they’d never forget.
We strive to worship with campers and to reveal a “love so compelling that campers spend the rest of their lives Pursuing its source”. Campfire every night is another opportunity for us to share Jesus.
We are using these funds so that campers can hear us through new sound equipment, so that campers can see us with new staging and spotlights, so that campers can worship without distraction through better amplifiers, cords, and equipment, and so that campers can sit comfortably on new splinter-free seats.
We are using these funds so that campers like the one in the story can see Jesus in a powerful way and that they can go home with lives changed.
