The Blue League is a collective of students and adult mentors who have all at one point been involved with Bluejacket Robotics. We love the sport of robotics and firmly believe it is an opportunity that all students should have access to, The benefits are not limited to STEM skills, many other life skills such as gracious professionalism, communication, marketing, and teamwork are developed through these programs. The programs are operated through F.I.R.S.T. ( For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, A Massachusetts based nonprofit founded by inventor Dean Kamen to project STEM curriculum through robotics competitions )

The Blue League is currently in the process of being founded to bring STEM opportunities to elementary aged kids across the state of Minnesota through the founding and supporting of FLL (FIRST Lego League) Teams. These Teams introduce young minds to STEM in a fun and competitive way, ultimately leading them into a higher STEM involvement throughout their lives. Currently, The Blue League consists of 16 individuals, Students, Alumni, and Parents alike. We believe that a student-driven team will help facilitate the growth of many key life skills while learning how to operate such an organization. We are in the process of becoming incorporated and obtaining our 501(c)(3) status. Currently, we are located in the Cambridge - Isanti area with plans to expand into the entirety of the East Central Minnesota area. The Blue League is looking for founding sponsors to provide donations in order to facilitate our operations. 

The impact of these programs is monumental on students and alumni alike.

  • FIRST Alumni are 2.6x more likely to enroll in an engineering course their freshman year

  • Over 75% of FIRST Alumni are in the STEM field either as a student of a professional 

  • 95% of students reported gains in time management

  • Over 90% of students reported improved conflict resolution skills

  • 87% of participants plan to take a more challenging math or science course
