We are raising money for Seckman Middle School's delinquent lunch account. By Sept. 30th the account was already delinquent by $7,648! Help us feed these kiddos so they can focus on learning and not how hungry they are!
As a Mom hearing horror stories of kids having their hot lunches taken and thrown in the trash to then receive a cheese sandwich as a form of punishment for their delinquent lunch accounts is absolutely heartbreaking and equally unacceptable. I would like to note that Seckman Middle School does give all kids a hot breakfast/lunch regardless of lunch account status ( which is AWESOME) but they need funds to keep up! This has been pulling on my heart strings for quite some time and hearing a news story about a kindergartner having this done to him on his birthday was what made me decide we have to do something. I recruited a fellow Mom and we brainstormed. We have big ideas, but with that comes time and while we are trying to act quickly these kids in our community are still going without hot lunches on a daily basis at no fault of their own. A child should NEVER be punished for an adults situation. We as a Community and as Moms can do better than what we have been to make sure each and every child that goes to school has a full tummy when heading off to learn in the classroom. It's a very sad state of affairs when criminals are treated better than our children. If they can receive three meals a day our children should have no problem getting breakfast and/or lunch at school! Our goal is to raise enough money not only to make The Big Payoff, but to keep a revolving account ensuring every child gets fed for months and months to come. ALL the money raised here will be given directly to Seckman Middle School's delinquent lunch account which as of September 30th was at a whopping $7,648 and that is for this year only! This fundraiser is just the beginning of our efforts, but we appreciate any and all support you can give!
