My girlfriend and I have been in a long distance relationship for over a year now. It has been amazing, but the dream is to be closer together. So I decided to start a crowfunding to take the big step; uprooting my life.
My girlfriend (Colombian) and I met when she was traveling alone through Europe and made a stop in Brussels (not too far from where I live). We immediately felt thát click, and thus we stayed in contact, which turned into the most amazing thing I've had in my life; a relationship with her.
Being in a long distance relationship can, at times, be difficult. I'm the first to admit that it takes hard work and dedication to pull through (but then again, which relation ship doesn't...); the times where you just want to be able to touch each other and just wake up together are tough. But besides that we actually manage to have some amazing dates together; watch movies together via Netflix Party, play games together, one time I even took her on a virtual tour I made for her as a surprise. The pleasure is in the little things.
Apart from those amazing online dates we travel together or visit each other to spend more real time together, and I can tell you those are worth the effort. However, that is also expensive, and in the end we both want to take the next step and live together. So I decided to just start saving up some more, but next to my monthly bills (living alone isn't all that cheap) and us still wanting to spend time together while we work towards that goal, saving money just doesn't go as fast as I'd wish.
Thus, I decided to try something new and start a crowdfunding project. Now I know this may very well lead to nothing, but I thought I'd at least have to give it a shot and see where it end up. So the goal is basically 50K, but actually it is just any help that we can get to help us start our lives together.
