Dear Friends and Family
It is our pleasure to announce that we will be embarking on a life-changing journey to serve in Sub-Saharan Africa for eight weeks this fall, and it would mean so much to us if you all could be a part of it!
For those of you who know us well, you know that we have also been raised as missionary children in the beautiful country of Norway. My family has a very deep Protestant heritage, and not only did my parents decide to serve the Lord overseas, but both sets of my grandparents as well. Our Grandfathers served as field officers during WW2 with the 99th infantry battalion.
We say this not to brag, but to explain that I, being raised in the very essence of what a well-brought-up Christians should be, still did not understand the great magnitude of God's call and Great Commission until we left our nests and saw the world.
We arrogantly assumed that we already understood the need for missions, as well as had already fulfilled my missional duties by serving alongside my parents. However, it wasn’t until we had the opportunity to share the Gospel ourselves for the first time during senior year of high school, with a dear friend of mine, that we began to feel the Lord humble and tug at my heart. As we prayed and watched my parents serve, we began to realize that there is nothing more fulfilling than getting to serve alongside our Lord Jesus. And that is what we want to do with the rest of my life, and for the moment, do on this trip.
We long to see His kingdom restored and His hand at work in a place that is marked by violence, poverty, and brokenness. More than that, we long to impact people with the Gospel of Jesus and the good news that he has come to seek and save the lost. Without His purpose and calling on my life, we know that we would be floundering and hopeless, and we want to share the love, joy and hope that He has given me with people who have not yet heard. we hope that through this trip God can grow and challenge me, as well as effectively use me and our team as a vessel to bring about His work in the hearts of the people we encounter. Roughly 25% of the population there is between the ages of 18 to 34 years old, and we hope to break into this age group and establish discipleship in this young generation which we will then carry on into the next. For my team specifically, this will look like working alongside the nationals and utilizing sports, adventure, healthcare, and education to establish relationships that will allow us to get inside homes and share the Gospel.
we know you all must have questions as to how this going to work with the reality of Covid-19; however, we can assure you, we will be taking the necessary precautions to undertake this journey safely and with the health of others in mind. Despite the questionable state of international travel at the moment, we have high hopes that if the Lord wants us there, then that is where he will send us, and he will provide away. If 2021 has taught us anything, it is that the Lord will be faithful, and he will work out his will one way or the other. And, with the state of the turbulent and unsure world we live in right now, it has never been more pertinent than now that we go out to all the nations and share the Good News of Jesus Christ where it has yet to be heard.
We would like to first request that you pray for my team and the work we will be doing throughout training and in the country. Please pray for the people of Sub-Saharan Africa and the preparation of their hearts to the gospel.
Humbly, we would like to invite you to join our team of supporters in sending me to serve in Sub-Saharan Africa. We need a team of roughly 35 supporters of $100 each to help us get to Africa to serve its people. If this does not fit in your budget any contribution of any amount is one step closer to making this trip happen!
These are the Countries we are visiting:
Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Cote d'Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon,
