My mother, Belinda Bell, had her 3rd stroke on February 6, 2019, with her first being in 2014, and her second in 2017. With each stroke, more of her ability to do things on her own decreases. With this last stroke, it caused my mother to fall. The blunt force to her head caused her to have a seizure and a concussion. My mother was released from the hospital on Monday, February 11, 2019. The Doctors wanted my mother to go to an Inpatient Rehabilitation Center, but we decided to have those services in the privacy of our home because we wanted her to feel comfortable.

My mom started receiving care from an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Speech Therapist, and an Aide for an hour a week. She needs 24/7 care. After extensive testing from her Neurologist, we were informed she is in the early stages of Dementia. The great news is that she's home and doing well. There are many challenges, however, she’s a strong and determined woman.

My mother is 61 years old and has served as an educator for children with disabilities for 27 years in Prince George’s Public County Schools system. She took care of so many people, including family members and friends with a smile. Please help me give her the best care she deserves. No donation is too small.
