ABOUT THE TEAM:

The Sparta Girls Varsity Basketball Team is hosting a Points for Pain fundraiser game on Friday January 27th! The Pediatric Pain Warrior program has not only helped one of our own families, but also so many kids and families around the United States!  Our goal is to raise at least $1000. This will help one family attend the Pediatric Pain Warrior's Summer Camp in San Antonio, Texas this year!

More Information

Points for Pain is a fundraiser to benefit the U.S. Pain Foundation's Pediatric Pain Warrior Program. This program includes a week long summer camp, weekend long educational retreats, an INvisible Project magazine-highlighting the brave stories of these young pediatric pain warriors, and other educational resources. The campaign's goal is to help raise awareness and funds for children and their families living with chronic pain.

Where does the money go?

The money will go directly to fund this year's Pediatric Pain Warrior Summer Camp. U.S. Pain is honored to offer a week long summer camp Free of charge at Morgan's Wonderland Summer Camp in San Antonio, TX. This is a wonderful place that allows campers and their families to attend camp and participate in regular activities with children facing their same challenges. This camp is entirely handicap accessible, giving them the opportunity to just be kids and not defined by their pain.

Pediatric Take Control of Your Pain Retreats

These weekend long retreats offer children living with chronic pain and their families a chance to connect, learn and feel supported. Past retreats have been in Gurnee, IL, San Antonio, TX and Orlando, FL. U.S. Pain covers the cost of the retreats.

Points for Pain started in 2015, when a 7th grader-Tyler Cashman, wanted to make a difference for these children. Tyler has been personally affected with chronic pain as his mom has been living with it for over 15 years. Tyler met some of these children and knew how chronic pain affects families and he decided to make a difference. While he knows he cannot take away the pain, he is trying to make sure all these pediatric pain warriors and their families feel supported and accepted and know they are not alone on their pain journey.
